‘A River Of Milk’, started as an e-zine that turned into this blog of Dutch-English poetry. I, your Laura of milk, am the editor and responsible for most of the translations from Dutch to English. Vrinda Aguilera lives in rural, north-central Florida where she works as a Montessori primary school teacher. She is a poet, intuitive energy healer, and lifelong practitioner of bhakti-yoga. Wendell Berry is an American novelist, poet, environmental activist, cultural critic, and farmer. He has written many novels, short stories, poems, and essays. He is . On January 28, 2015, he became the first living writer to be ushered into the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame. His poem ‘The Peace of Wild Things’ can be found back in hisbook 'The Collected Poems'.






Jamie Burgess is a wild-hearted creative living in NC with her husband and four children. Her favourite pastimes are tree - hugging and stargazing, while steadily working towards her dream of becoming a hospice hurse. She is committed to living with courage, daily, and following her heart, always.








Laura Demelza Bosma (1986) is the initiator of 'A River Of Milk', poetry from an outspoken feminine perspective. She is a poet, doula, mother and illustrator. With this initiative she wishes to share the Dutch poetry she loves over the borders, practise her own English, translating and at the same time create an international bond between female poets.

Anne Broeksma is a Dutch poetess. Since 2009 she performs her own poetry on various stages and presents many poetry events in The Netherlands. She made her poetry debut in 2014 with ‘Regen kosmos kamerplant’ by Publisher Uitgeverij Atlas Contact. That autumn many reviews, interviews and performances followed. Last May Anne received a subsidy to work on a second book.










Vicky Francken  (1989) is a poet and a translator. Her first volume of poetry, Röntgenfotomodel (X-ray oto Model), has recently been published.

Hanneke van Eijken made her poetry debut in 2013 with the volume ‘Papieren Veulens’ (Paper Foals). The book was crowned with de Lucy C.W Van der Hoogt Prijs (prize) 2015 and got nominated for the C. Budding Prijs (prize) for the best Dutch poetry debut. At the moment she works on her second poetry-book, besides her work as a university-teacher and researcher of European Law. www.hannekevaneijken.nl

Jolanda Dieuwke Lichthart (Sneek, the Netherlands, 1978) is a mother and a lover, an English and history teacher, a non-fiction writer and a storyteller. In her life and work she is heavily inspired by the wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism, ancient nature religions and witchcraft. A pisces, she's inclined to simply follow life's natural flow, which in everyday life means that half of the time, she feels she doesn't know what the hell she's doing, but finds that usually things turn out pretty fine regardless. Essentially, she is driven by an inexplicable eagerness to create, learn and love.




Verena Möllenkamp is a mother of three and a passionate Doula, based in Nürnberg, Germany. Because her childhood-wish to be the mother of many, the Doula basic principle of ‘mothering the mother’ really suits her well. www.birth-doula.net












Sylvia Plath was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 27, 1932. Plath met and married British poet Ted Hughes, although the two later split. The depressive Plath committed suicide in 1963, garnering accolades after her death for the novel The Bell Jar, and the poetry collections The Colossus and Ariel. In 1982, Plath became the first person to win a posthumous Pulitzer Prize.

Julia W. Prentice has been writing since her teenage years, pouring psyche onto her hidden pages. She has successful careers in teaching, interpreting in ASL and assisting persons with mental health challenges to find their own paths to recovery. Published in “Where Journey Meet: The Voice of Women’s Poetry” and “Temptation: ‘A sizzling guide to the Seven Deadly Sins”, she was a semi-finalist in 'The Poet's Billow' 2015 Atlantis Award. She also has pieces published in several online journals:  "Women's Spiritual Poetry", "The Tattooed Buddha" and "Some Talk of You and Me". Cíntia Pumes is a Brazilian poet currently living in Brussels, Belgium. At the moment she works on her first poetry book. 

Tammy T. Stone is a writer, poet and chronicler of life, who loves trying to understand the world through travel and creative expression. Her articles, columns, short stories and poems have been published internationally, and her first book, a poetry collection called "Formation: Along the Ganges and Back Again" was published by Prolific Press in 2015.











Mieke van Zonneveld (1989) published poems in several Dutch  literary magazines and regularly reads here poetry on stages. Her first volume of poetry, ‘Leger’ has been published beginning 2017.
